What We Do
Transition Kentish Town consists of a group of local people sharing a vision of happier, friendlier, fairer and more enjoyable low carbon local living, and getting together to work out HOW to make it happen – while also helping us get to know our neighbours better, and enjoy living locally here in Kentish Town.
Since launching Transition Kentish Town (TKT) in 2010 we’ve shared our dreams, hope, enthusiasm and know-how to launch local projects that meet local needs and increase neighbourliness, starting with a shared spark of ‘What if…?’ imagination, nurtured, reworked and brought to life by many hands, to explore low impact and more socially just and enjoyable ways to live in our 21st century communities.
We bring our passions and skills into a lived reality, through local low-carbon-living projects that are designed to meet local needs. With climate anxiety reported to be at an all time high, the Transition Town’s approach offers practical ways to get involved in climate action that DOES make a difference. For more information on the Transition Towns approach to climate and environmental action see www.transitionnetwork.org.

We also love to partner with like minded groups and individuals – like supporting the Camden Nature Recovery Corridor project led by local ecologist, Jeff Waage. Read more on the The Heath & Hampstead Society’s website.
The Kentish Town SEEDBED project is a Transition Kentish Town initiative inviting other Kentish Towners to share their ideas. It aims to connect with new ideas and skills from our Kentish Town community to help us all work together on a new generation of low carbon living projects.
Do you live in or near London NW5? Do you have a great vision or bright ideas for living in Kentish Town in friendlier, fairer, low carbon ways? Do you have skills you’d be happy to share to help build a future that benefits us all and safeguards our planet, both locally and globally? Or would you just like to share in making this all happen? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
To keep in touch and get involved – to find out more, or to let us know about your ideas on what we can do together, and hear about meetings to share and plan action, join our mailing list. You can sign up using the form on the Newsletter page.
